"dat?"

elijah has a new game called, "dat?" it involves crawling/demanding to be carried around and asking, "dat?" (that?)  or "wo dat?" (what's that?).  while developmentally, i know that this is an amazing new step towards language development and recognition and knowledge about the world around him, but it is, quite frankly, a game that grows tiring quickly.  he is a very regal and demanding pointer and will point to the same items over and over again.  you not only have to name the item (and preferably take him to where he can reach said item) but you also have to be careful what you call things.  for instance, maggie is now "adog" not "dog" because we would always say, "there's maggie, she's a dog." i know this game is in preparation for the 'why?' game we will be playing for the next 6-8 years, but that is not helping me make it through the long days :).
