glasses

after and eye doctor appointment a few weeks ago, it was determined that eli needs to wear glasses.  we were hoping to delay this by a few more years, but if he needs them now, he needs them now.  they start toddlers on a much lower prescription and work them up to full strength by school-age.  yesterday afternoon we bought elijah his first pair of glasses.  he has already bent an arm into a crazy angle and i had to bend it back.  thankfully they come with a 1year warranty and one free lens replacement- perfect for kiddos!  mr man is not a huge fan.  he likes to take them off and run away.  we are trying to train him to give them to an adult when he takes them off so they don't get lost and/or broken.  i do have to say that they are a little large on his tiny head, but he'll grow into them.  in all fairness, he moves so quickly now that we didn't get a good full-frontal view of him until after we purchased the glasses and got home.  also, there is a distinct lack of toddler boy glasses in austin.  we didn't want wire frames (eye-gouging concerns) or the ones that look like wrap-around-your-head sports goggles (vanity issues-mine, not his, obviously).  so there were basically 2 pairs of appropriate, boy colored, (i thought the baby blue ones were cute but christof said they were too girlie) plastic frames.  we purched him the slightly less cute and considerably (like, less than half the price) cheaper ones.  hopefully they'll survive our crazy little guy!
