our very texas halloween
our family went as cowboys. this costume could not have been easier thanks to the boots elijah received (thanks johnsons!) as a gift, the sheriff's star he received as a party favor (thanks atticus!), and the hat he got at his one-year check-up (his pediatrician has a cowboy themed office). besides the boots (which, sadly, were still about a size too big for our little guy) and the hat, which was also too big, eli wore his costume without complaints all night. and, as an extra bonus, our whole family was outfitted for a mere $8, what a bargain! we had a great time at a halloween party and then went trick-or-treating at a few houses (mostly our neighbors). elijah went up to the doors, held out his little pumpkin sac, and took the candy he was given, but kept trying to go into the houses. he just didn't understand why we would go to someone's door and not go inside and hang out (our little socialite). not to worry-we have confiscated what little candy he received. i know, mean parents, but really, i can not imagine what he would be like with a tummy full of sugar and chocolate.
