it tastes like cookies?!

after an incredibly long hiatus (sorry, and i'll try not to let it happen again)...

we were baking cookies this week, which is always an adventure with a toddler, and were planning to give most of them away.  elijah and i had a long talk about these cookies leaving our house and that only a scarce few would be left for him.  he handled this news surprisingly well!  after the cookies were in the oven, i was cleaning up and he was 'helping' (being underfoot), so i decided it was time for him to be introduced to cookie dough from the beater (germophobes please do not be alarmed-we use pasteurized eggs).  he wasn't too sure at first, but soon came to the amazing realization that, quote, "mom?! it tastes like cookies?!" so true sweet boy, so true.  let's just say it was hard to wrestle the beater away after that discovery and even harder to get the sticky dough off his hands, face, hair, glasses...well you get the picture.
